Be careful - these are short lengths of elastic

It's my fault for not checking the dimensions more closely but this elastic will only stretch through narrow ironing boards, not my 18 -inch ironing board chalkboard. Luckily the elastic is attached to the loops so I can replace it with longer pieces which of course I have to buy. Be aware... Otherwise the handles are big and solid and the elastic is good quality.

A total waste of money - very poor quality product - I throw it in the bin

This is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I couldn't return them either as none of the return options apply to the purchase. First, they are too small for any ironing board, except maybe for children. Second, the only way to get them in shape is to stretch them enough that you can clearly see that they're tight. That's when they started tearing AND I USE THE LONGEST IN THE SMALLEST PART OF MY BOARD. I threw them in the trash. It was a waste of money.

Use this type of product for many purposes

I use these fasteners on my ironing board and on the corners of my sheet and mattress pad to keep it in place. This brand and size seems to slip more than others I've used and to prevent this I made sure I doubled the + fabric over the elastic and then pinched them. A layer of fabric is not thick enough to grip. That doesn't make this product bad, it just needs to make sure the material you're clamping is thick enough to hold it. I will buy again but maybe in a smaller size.

Injuries are possible, a pity, the cost is most likely

Very close to the garbage. Shame on Dritz! After all, the name has to mean something. These little hooks are hard as hell to hook because they don't stretch far enough to go past the center of a typical ironing board, the little teeth snap halfway, and they're just wide enough to accommodate the thinnest fabric in the first place . IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Hook at your side first, then pull the other hook towards you. If a slippery little knot flies out of your hand, you don't need stitches orโ€ฆ

  • There are minuses

bought these to hold my "barely wide enough new ironing board cover on the board". The first one broke in my hands (sewing on the elastic cut the elastic). I carefully stretched out the other 3. The short one very near the end of the board. It actually only extends 5 inches from end to end, including clamps. The bottom line is they are barely functional, low quality and don't do what old ironing board attachments do. I bought these because I've always used Dritz products as a kid and expectedโ€ฆ

Definitely not recommended

I've had some major issues with this. First, they were too short for my ironing board, so I had to add 3 inches of elastic to each. It was a lot of work and the buyer couldn't have done it if he didn't have a rubber band, a sewing machine and the skills. Second, the end clips do not open wide enough to attach to the ironing board cover. If you stretch the strap to fasten, the clip closes even tighter. I had a hell of a time to put them on. The metal straps were otherwise of good quality, butโ€ฆ

Not long on irons and steam irons

I bought a pack of these fasteners along with metal packaging. I have metal ones with hooks that I've had for years that still work well, but I needed more because I bought a new ironing board cover that had a pathetic drawstring. I had the same problems with those as with the metal ones. They just don't stretch enough. I didn't even try to use the small ones, just the big ones. I ended up having to shorten the elastic a bit to get enough stretch. My ironing board is old and only a standardโ€ฆ

who knew Things You Can Do + It's just a click away

This turned out to be a diamond in the rough for me. I put them on the ironing board first and while they held the lid (as intended) due to the way my ironing board folds I had to adjust them a bit. Later that week I found a much better use for them. We have a very nice mattress topper on our bed, but even though it has a wide, fully elasticated hem that conforms to the mattress like a fitted sheet, it keeps getting tangled under the sheets, making it feel lumpy when we sleep.
