I bought a pack of these fasteners along with metal packaging. I have metal ones with hooks that I've had for years that still work well, but I needed more because I bought a new ironing board cover that had a pathetic drawstring. I had the same problems with those as with the metal ones. They just don't stretch enough. I didn't even try to use the small ones, just the big ones. I ended up having to shorten the elastic a bit to get enough stretch. My ironing board is old and only a standard size, not a large size. I also found that the clips weren't open enough to snag the ironing board lid. I prefer the old ones I have but I don't think they are available anymore. It would be ok if it was a little longer and the clips opened up a little more. But if that's all you have, you have to make them work. Almost a good product.
