Tomtom is a little strange as the product it sells in the US is not even listed on its own website. I have had a GO910 for over 8 years and it has worked very well. fine for me as long as it doesn't feel too old now. When I bought this START 50M, I couldn't find the specs of its internal storage anywhere on the internet. The official Tomtom website only shows the START 50, which is listed with 8G internal storage and a microSD slot. So I'm assuming the START 50M is the same spec, just with the US map pre-installed instead of the Europe map. Well, guess what, the START 50M doesn't have a microSD slot and only has 4G internal storage. The non-expandable internal memory of the 4G GPS device means you must remove the US map before you can download the 2.5G Europe map. A process that takes several hours. And you need to do it again once you want to install US map on it.
