Affordable and extremely useful

I got this for my desk lamp and powered speakers (Kanto YU2.) Since WFH began, reaching under the desk everyday for the lamp switch and fiddling with my speakers' volume became a real pain. With this outlet and the free SmartLife app (I can confirm it works!) I schedule everything on my desk to turn on before I start working and turn itself off in the evening. The 2 USB charging ports are very useful as well. One issue I encountered was, when I initially placed it right by my wifi router, It had

Pros
  • This was very easy to set up and use. Great idea.
Cons
  • Does not support fast charging

Very Disappointed good for me

Out of the box it was great. Plugged it in, pressed the power button to turn it on and then held the pairing button down for a few seconds. The Geeni app works well and allows for some customization and timers for each plug. I was so happy that I went out and bought four more of them.A FEW MONTHS LATER. We replaced our internet router and changed the settings for the wifi. This meant we had to reset all the plugs to match the new router configuration. The Geeni plugs WILL NOT RESET. You press…

Pros
  • I use this to control the lights and pumps on my aquarium
Cons
  • Only comes in one color/design

Scheduled timer never turns OFF! Ugh

I love this - it's easy to set up more so than other wifi plugs I have used. It's great having all of the plugs on one surge protector. Setting up the schedule was a bit clunky and then it's more infuriating when nothing turns off. It's not like it doesn't ever turn off, but the days and times which it actually decides to turn off are hit and miss. I had plugs from enbrighten and those schedules were way easier to set up and much more reliable. I think if someone can figure out their…

Pros
  • I love being able to control all my devices. But the price is starting to get a bit to high.
Cons
  • App is completely unreliable. Definitely wouldn't trust this to run using the geeni app.

Unreliable product and horrendous customer service

I have 3 of the surge protectors and used it in my previous apt with little issues such as random loss of connections. I've recently moved to a new build home with fiberoptics and 2/3 of these stopped connecting. One works fine in the living room but the other 2 would not pick up the signal. After resetting it multiple time, they still didn't work.I contacted the company and they couldn't troubleshoot over the phone so they requested I sent a video of the Nth time to reset them to demonstrate…

Pros
  • Cord is too short.
Cons
  • Pricey compared to other surge protectors on the market

Unreliable, randomly power cycles outlets!

I hooked this thing up in my studio so that I could use my phone to toggle the power of some of my audio equipment that doesn't have an on/off button, and save some electricity when the studio isn't in use. I've only had it hooked up for a couple of days, but it has already done this more than once!Basically, for no reason at all, the power strip will randomly switch off and almost immediately turn back on again. This causes a big voltage spike/power surge which is potentially very damaging to…

Pros
  • I like it so much because I can control all outlets anywhere through phone and by Alexa at home
Cons
  • Limited lifetime warranty compared to other brands

Better than my TPLink devices

Easy to set up and no problems with Alexa communications with the device. I will be buying another soon. edited a couple months later. The device died from a power outage. It shows power is on but none of the outlets will work and it will no longer connect to the internet. I still love this product and ordered another one. One major hiccup, I contacted Geeni support via their "chat" connection on their website. The next day I get a call from the same help desk area but this time around they try

Pros
  • Works great for turning my turtles lights on and off
Cons
  • May not work with older home electrical systems

Alexa doesn't recognize this device half the time, i.e, the slot I named "5 gallon tank" and says it's not responding, but when I go through the app I'm able to control the outlets just fine. This was easy to install and works with the Smart Life app. just not Alexa. So much for voice controlling water changes on my nano tank, and glad I have a waterproof case on my iphone to control via the app!

Pros
  • Off
Cons
  • Alexa and Google Assistant may struggle to understand user commands

So many uses and value for a low price

Under cabinet kitchen lighting.Maybe not what you thought when you looked up this item.I needed to install two runs of under cabinet lighting to make wifey happy. Problem is, I’m not an electrician, I get power drill happy, and I hate extra wires. This solved everything.Between the two runs is my microwave and above the microwave is a cabinet with a single power outlet meant for the microwave. I put this puppy in the cabinet, ran the lighting power cables up through the cabinets and sideways…

Pros
  • There's something about it
Cons
  • May not protect against sudden power surges as effectively as other surge protectors

Each outlet is individually controlled !

So you can turn the whole strip on and off or . you can turn each outlet on and off individually. I'm using mine with an aquarium with several lights plugged in. With Google Home I can turn on a light at sunset and then turn on the brighter lights and hour later. In reverse, I can turn off the bright lights at midnight and then the smaller light fifteen minutes later. Much better for the fish. On gloomy days I can just say "Hey Google - turn on outlet one" and the small light comes on. Such…

Pros
  • With a three-foot cord, this surge protector is the perfect length to reach even the most hard-to-reach outlets, providing a comfortable and convenient power source for all your devices
Cons
  • Poor customer service from manufacturer

I mean it works, when it works.

It worked great for the time it worked. I've had for a few months now and now both of them stopped functioning correctly. My timers were off. They'll turn on and off at random times whenever it feels like it. Although I could still go in the app and turn things on or off manually. It was getting really annoying that it didnt function correctlt anymore. So I tried resetting it and reconnecting it. Could t find it and connect it anymore. So now it just works like a normal basic power strip. And…

Pros
  • Plug In
Cons
  • Not suitable for outdoor use

Works as needed for my opinion

I had no issue with setup. I can turn on/off each plug via Alexa or Google home. This saves me money as I only turn on things connected to my TV as needed. The app looks like a copied version of Tuya / Smart Things. but alot of smart devices have apps that seam to "borrow" from that app.

Pros
  • This surge protector is an excellent investment for anyone who needs a reliable and efficient way to power all their devices without overloading circuits or taking up too much space
Cons
  • Not a foolproof method of surge protection

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does its job. No frills, no complaints.

I use this in my office to control some light fixtures that can't use smart bulbs, and it's been fine. Each outlet can be named and controlled independently, but I usually just use them all at once by telling my smart thing to "turn off the office" and it just poofs the whole office into off mode.

Pros
  • Push Button
Cons
  • Alexa and Google Assistant integration may not work properly

it works great but - my new review

i bought this almost a year ago, been using it since then, it works great it does what its supposed to do, the set up was easy and the app is easy to use, unfortunately the power led indicators for each outlet has started to die off, currently only 4 our of 5 outlet led indicators are working, its not a big deal since it still works but a bit annoying.

Pros
  • UNIVERSAL APP: The Geeni app works with all Geeni smart home devices, allowing easy control of your home from your Android or iOS smartphone. Allow your family, neighbors, and guests to access all your Geeni Smart Home devices.
Cons
  • May not be able to handle heavy electrical loads

Very easy setup and six outlets

This is my 1st smart plug and it's been a great but at this price. Set up took about two minutes and I can now romotely control six devices. Cost was less then 2 plugs from other brand. App is easy too use and is pretty customizable

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • May not be user-friendly for those who are not tech-savvy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

USB ports are not controlled in app

Wonderful, works great so far with downloaded app. However the USB ports are not able to be controlled in the app/remotely, only the 4 plug ins. Works with Alexa app or Google assistant.

Pros
  • Voice
Cons
  • Only has four outlets, which may not be enough for some users

I was skeptical at first. So far NO regrets on this purchase

These are pretty cool I’m actually going to order another for my computer area and maybe one more for the living room. If anyone is having first time issues, make sure you press the big white power button next to the cord, then hold the clear button until it flashes blue repeatedly. Now your ready for set up. I like that I can assign names to each outlet and set timers on them. Also can be controlled away from home. Great buy!

Pros
  • With its four outlets and two USB ports, the Geeni Surge Cord Extender is the perfect solution for anyone who needs extra power outlets without sacrificing space or convenience
Cons
  • Not suitable for commercial or industrial use

The Geeni wifi controlled outlet is just about as useless as all the other wifi enabled outlets on this cursed app (Im looking at you Gosund). Dont know why I bothered with this one.Yes, it has 6 individually controllable outlets, but that doesn't matter when it CAN'T EVEN CONNECT TO THE APP. The first time I plugged it in out of the box it was smooth sailing. Unplugged it and tried again, then all of a sudden it can't connect at all. The app will find the device, but thats as far as itll get…

Pros
  • COMPATIBILITY: The Geeni 4-Outlet Smart Surge Protector is compatible with all 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. With 460 joules surge protected, 125V and the 3-foot cable, you can safely and conveniently plug in any device you want.
Cons
  • May not be able to handle high voltage devices

READ before you buy

Good smart 6 port switch, not great. The Positives: you can control each port individually or together with the app, or Alexa, each port can be named as well as the device, Alexa will read those settings from the app. responds very quickly and the wifi setup is really easy, The NOT so good: even tho you can schedule(on/Off) each individual port, the schedule is VERY unreliable sometime does not follow the schedule on or off settings, which makes the schedule pretty much unusable.after power…

Pros
  • 1.0 Count
Cons
  • May cause interference with other home automation systems

Great Product. but only lasts about 2 years

SETUP: My experience is from using 4 of these over the past 3 years. Set up is a bit tedious due to the need to be very close to wifi and BlueTooth for iPhone set up. Another issue is in setting up there is no feedback that it is searching for wifi / Bluetooth (would be great if showed a processing set).ONCE SET UP: My experience is it is great! iPhone UI is great! Unfortunately, the chipsets (Bluetooth/ Wifi) stop working after a couple of years (not sure why/). I only have needed 2 but had to

Pros
  • Power Strips & Surge Protectors
Cons
  • Requires a stable Wi-Fi connection

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy 5 stars. I don't understand why it wouldn't be.

PROS:+ Once set up, it is amazingly easy to use and the app is extremely intuitive.+ I click one button that I created (and labeled "Sleep") in the app and every device that produces any light in my room instantly shuts off so that I can sleep without any lights being on. They turn back on automatically at 7am so they're ready by the time I get up. It's super intuitive and you can, of course, customize features like this to however you need with your devices.+ I couldn't find another smart plug

Pros
  • The Geeni Surge Cord Extender is designed to be durable and long-lasting, so you can enjoy reliable power sources for years to come
Cons
  • May not be suitable for outdoor use or in wet environments
