Review on Smart Surge Protector Cord Extender With Alexa & Google Assistant - Geeni Surge 4-Outlet, 2 USB, 3 Feet. by Brian Warmack

Unreliable, randomly power cycles outlets!

I hooked this thing up in my studio so that I could use my phone to toggle the power of some of my audio equipment that doesn't have an on/off button, and save some electricity when the studio isn't in use. I've only had it hooked up for a couple of days, but it has already done this more than once!Basically, for no reason at all, the power strip will randomly switch off and almost immediately turn back on again. This causes a big voltage spike/power surge which is potentially very damaging to professional audio equipment. If this happens even one more time, I'll most definitely be returning this device for a refund and investigating alternative power management options. A surge strip should never power cycle like this for no reason whatsoever, especially not a "smart" one!Aside from what is connected to the Geeni surge strip, none of my other equipment had any power interruption when the Geeni strip power cycled, so I know the issue was isolated to this device and not some other systemic problem with the power here.
