Reliable and EASY to use, well designed and full of features, many uses

Every voltmeter I own has more features than I have ever used, this voltmeter is perhaps the best in that regard. The killer feature is the current-measuring ammeter. The clamp wraps around the positive or negative wire and measures current without breaking the circuit. I haven't tried this on DC, but I did open the panel in my workshop to check various systems running from the panel. With the pool pump on, electric heaters, fridges and lights on, it drew a surprisingly (for me) low 11.7A on one side of the 240 input. The loop will not work around a cable or romex as the plus and minus circuits cancel each other out. each other. It has to be looped around one or the other to measure. An extension cord can be easily made with split circuits and this meter will measure the power consumption of any device, or the device can be metered at the terminal. Wires must be used to measure voltage. The wires are particularly good with large connectors that come with protective caps and fit snugly into the meter. The ends of the wires have insulators that can be removed to expose about 3/4 inch of bare metal or just about 1/8 inch on the ends. The meter is even equipped with a temperature sensor. Temperatures were consistently measured lower than expected: ambient room 62.7℉, my beer 24.8℉, my cat 82.4℉, and my mouth 84.7℉. The display is backlit and has a small flashlight that turns on if you hold the button down endlessly for 2 seconds, which feels like forever. The meter comes with a zippered storage/carrying case with a top loop and a belt loop. It also comes with a decent but not complete guide. I think an ammeter would be very useful, especially in DC where I haven't tested it yet. I had a built in non-contact voltmeter with me as I use this tool much more often than a wired voltmeter when wiring up lights and outlets.
