Review on ASUS VP249QGR Monitor: Extreme FreeSync Display with 144Hz Refresh Rate, Flicker-Free & Adaptive Sync Technology, Wall-Mountable, Blue Light Filter & HD Quality by Jason Bryant

Pretty good monitor

This is the exact same monitor as the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q. The only difference is the monitor stands. If you want a very nice, solid, fully adjustable monitor stand, I would buy the VG249Q. If you don't care about the quality of the stand or plan on using it on monitor arms and want to save some cheddar, this monitor is for you. I use this monitor for high resolution photo editing and gaming. I play games like Star Citizen, Monster Hunter, Elite Danger, Final Fantasy 14 Online, Cyber Punk 2077, Elden Ring and they all look great on this monitor. They work very well for editing monitors, but if you're looking for unmatched editing quality, all you have to do is buy a dedicated editing monitor. It's not bad for editing. It's really very good. It only starts to lag when you're working with deep blacks or need to look at the pixels. With darker colors, it becomes difficult to tell them apart. The black color seems a bit lighter than true black, but I think you'd buy an OLED display if that's what matters most to you. I would have liked them to be a bit brighter too. 144 Hertz. and Free Sync works great too. To be honest, for what I paid for them pre-pandemic, these things were stealing. Now just about what I expect from you. If you buy them, they will not disappoint you.
