Sophisticated device. good size The microwave is quiet and performs well. Easy to clean, but all humidifiers require cleaning after each use. The bottom of the tank has a couple of plastic devices that stick out about 4 inches and require a bristle brush (two wires twisted together with the bristles sticking out on all sides, and a tuft on the end) to clean. Also clean the water tank at the bottom by filling it with clean water, run your finger along the sides (do not touch the recessed membrane except gently with a cotton swab), drain and rinse again . Sounds like work, but it takes no longer than filling up a tank. At the end of the season, you should dip the mist tube that runs through the reservoir in a 50:50 mixture of white vinegar and water to wash away the dirt that has built up. The same applies to the water tank in the base. Rinse when done. Let dry. Then save. Should look like new next season. We have two of these, one at each end of the house. It is very important. Reduces static electricity and prevents a sore throat.
