I ordered this rope to be useful for projects and games around the house. We always seem to have something to do in the yard and trees, and another strong rope is always at hand. I don't use it for hiking or when I need to hike long distances with it. I prefer 9.5mm or 10mm ropes for these situations. I go back and forth on whether or not I want both ends looped. On the one hand I like the idea that both ends can be secured cleanly and easily, but I think that in reality it will be enough to secure one end and better leave the other end free so it can pass the belay device or the end of abseiling. The rope itself seems to be of really good quality and will be used for many years. I have to admit I'm a little wary of a brand I'm not familiar with, but there's nothing about the rope itself that has me wary other than the price. At $15 for a 12mm 32ft rope, the price seems too good to be true compared to more expensive climbing ropes. The only thing that can be considered a complaint are the attached "steel rings". These are not climbing carabiners, but ones that are used to connect heavy ropes. They seem strong and effective enough to hold the rope securely, but they are a little rough on the edges and I'm concerned that the rough edges on the clasp could catch on the rope and cause fraying. If you are purchasing this rope for a semi-permanent installation, the included rings will work. If, like me, you're just using rope for a new project, I prefer climbing-style carabiners, which are smoother on the edges. Given the total price of only $15 and the fact that the product description clearly states what they are selling, I cannot lower the price of the product at all. I love that the rope comes with a small package to keep it clean. It's always nice not to have to worry about the rope getting dirty when storing or traveling.
