In anticipation of the onset of winter, I was seriously puzzled by the choice of wheels for the Mondeo 4 (205/60 R16 instead of the recommended 205/55): the once-loved Nordfrost 100 cannot be found during the day with fire, Nordmans from Nokian have already disappointed with noise and protruding spikes, other options (such as Pirelli or Hakki 9) were intimidated by price or conflicting reviews. The choice of this particular model was also difficult because it was not possible to find unambiguous results of comparative tests by any auto publications where these wheels would participate. I think that having several opinions will help someone make the right choice, so I will describe my impressions: today the wheels are installed on the car, 2 months and about 3000 km have passed. The installation went smoothly, the quality of the studding did not cause any questions (the departure is uniform, nothing sticks out at an angle). The first few kilometers make it clear that the tire is more comfortable than the summer one on which I arrived at the tire fitting shop, however, the unrolled spikes create a feeling of rolliness in motion, which completely disappeared after about 350 kilometers. Acoustic comfort, meanwhile, has gone nowhere. As for the grip qualities of tires after running in: acceleration is confident and assertive even on loose snow; yaw, especially when the stabilization system is on, is not noticeable. Braking is very good on all types of surfaces, in deep snow it can drag several meters under the chirp of ABS, but you have to understand that driving in winter as well as in May is stupidity. In other driving scenarios, this system does not interfere with the work, which means that the capabilities of the wheels are enough. I would like to give some data on wear resistance and experience in counting spikes in the spring, but this hour has not struck yet. Summarizing, I will say: these tires are unlikely to fit for an enthusiast of active driving with sudden changes in lanes and sudden braking. Those who need confidence behind the wheel in trips around the city and on the highway can safely count on this model, especially since they are very loyal to the budget for the price.
