I bought it because it was the loudest I could find (only 100dB) and it also had a low battery. (Incredibly, most of them don't have a low battery beep, many require you to press a button to check the battery. Ask yourself how many times you press the button on your smoke alarms. Install it as soon as it arrives, while the family was upstairs i went down to the basement and installed it next to the water heater it took very little water to run which was nice i didn't check the top drippers it has a siren alarm no one upstairs heard it until i checked went upstairs and asked them to listen. If the TV, washer, dryer etc are on I doubt it will be heard. If it was on the first floor behind a closed closet door I think it was probably from them is heard whoever is on the ground floor until the tv is on Very disappointed with the volume I got at full volume.
