I bought this for the following softbox: Fotodiox Pro Softbox, 32 x 48" (32 x 48") with Speedring Speed Ring for Alien Bees Alienbees Strobe Light In the end everything worked out (mostly). I use a Sony system and since Sony went with the signature style of the shoe I had to tweak it a bit to make it work properly. For everyone else, this should work right away. It works great with the softbox. There are adjustments to move the light up/down and in/out to fit the softbox perfectly. So you can adjust it depending on whether your flash is short, tall etc. Build quality seems excellent, as with most Fotodiox products, especially at the lower price point they cost.
