Saved Swimming Lessons

My daughter switched from the family pool to the team pool during her swimming lessons. It was getting much colder and she was miserable, bruised, crying and talking about how badly she wanted to give up swimming lessons. She used to love her. The teacher recommended taking a bathing shirt with long sleeves. I've seen it and dared it. It really helped. It's not a wetsuit, but it seems to keep her warm enough not to feel nauseous. In fact, in the last grade, she smiled several times and didn't ask to leave right away (she still says she doesn't want to go to the next grade, but in small steps). It seems made more for sun protection, but if you're looking for a little help in cold water temperatures and don't want to pay for a wetsuit, this seems like a good compromise. It fits as expected. My daughter is 6 and a bit tall for her age but she still wears a size 6 in streetwear. Size 6 fits well.
