There are cheaper chairs out there but I have found that you get what you pay for. There are more expensive chairs out there, but you won't get the style and functionality that comes with this chair. My wife and I were looking for a suitable chair for our 12 year old son who was seriously interested in drawing, including shopping at major retail chains. I had experience in this area, I was an artist myself. I have two things to say about this chair, I wish I had one since I was 12 and for the price it's worth it. Sturdy than the cheaper chairs we've found, the chair is functional in the sense that it's adjustable and comfortable, and very good looking too. If you or someone you know spends hours at a drafting or drafting table then I would recommend this chair. I use my son's chair while he is at school. We're happy with that, and we're glad we didn't settle for one of the cheaper chairs we found. As a parent and artist, you can't go wrong with this.
