I did a lot of research and spent money on a few hammers for my glove collection before concluding that this Hot Glove offers the best bang for your buck. In fact, everything I've bought from Hot Glove has been functional and affordable, as has the workmanship of the gloves. This hammer has a spherical end that not only allows you to create a spherical pocket, but also smooth out the occasional blisters and wrinkles on the skin. The end of the stick tapers to shape the finger rests and I found it held securely despite the lack of a grip. The length may require an extra inch to climb higher in the pocket, but you can always just flip the glove upside down and stretch it up into a web. I was concerned about how light it was, but it actually swings faster and isn't as tiring as some of the more solid mallets. Finally, I was concerned about the two-piece design, but it hasn't disappointed me yet and I'm sure this product can be much more affordable than the one-piece. This is a must have if you're serious about breaking in your glove and want something quicker than using a weighted softball.
