Even when I'm streaming on my new Samsung QLED Smart TV, I still love our DVDs. Heck, why would I buy streaming movies and series when I have them on DVD?) So I ordered this cable bundled with a very basic Sony DVD player. I was crossing my fingers for decent picture and sound and didn't quite understand how the new smart TV would accept my almost 20 year old West Wing DVDs. After all, these new smart TVs are built for streaming, and Samsung doesn't even make DVD players anymore. We were so happy to see how great the picture and sound turned out! I don't know if a specific HDMI cable had anything to do with the great results, but I think so. I can say that this cable should be backwards compatible as the connection works well. The cable is a little thick and doesn't bend easily in the Samsung stand's cable management system. But it does grab a cord that's thick enough to hold it in place.
