I always have problems with my 11.5 inch wide feet. I usually order half a size up, but since loafers take a long time to arrive, I ordered roomy shoes that are exactly my length. I usually avoid these types of shoes because my feet don't fit in loafers. I was concerned that when the shoes arrived my feet would not fit at all, but I was able to wear these shoes. It was a little tight, but that's exactly what I expected based on my previous experience with my feet. I bought a shoe stretcher and it worked. With some stretch for the shoe and some wear and tear, the shoe now fits perfectly and accommodates. As for the style, I like it. These are really great looking shoes that are well made. I get compliments. My old pair of Clarks lasted many years - I still wear them. But it is a more classic style and looks very clean and crisp. If you have a wide foot but are concerned about loafers, I recommend buying wider shoes and considering a shoe tree. Although you might not need a stretcher, because the shoes break in perfectly. When I take them off at night I use cedar to keep them in shape.
