Revainrating 4 out of 5

4.5 stars. Great dishes.

If I could rate this 4.5/5 stars I would but as there are a few falls I gave it 4 stars. Advantages: Excellent heat distribution. I love to cook in cast iron and having an enamel set on my cookware is a dream come true. This pan is extremely versatile, it can be used as a casserole dish or casserole, it goes with everything. The enamelling makes the outer surface easy to clean, so you don't have to oil the outside of the pan. This is a big saving if you have a flat stovetop on your stovetop, as the oily coating of wet cast iron pans can leave scorch marks on the stovetop. Now I put this statement between pros and cons, because depending on your preferences. , it can be both. This pan is only enameled on the outside. Both the inside of the lid and the bottom are made of pig iron. This means that you need a lot of oil when cooking and you have to coat the inside of the lid and pot after cleaning to care for your cookware. I have other enameled cast iron cookware that has a coating on the inside and I find it easier to use like regular Teflon cookware, but you lose some of the cast iron grit when the enamel is on the inside. Depending on your preference or desire to use this pan, this can either be a plus or a minus. Cons: Cookware behaves like wet cast iron cookware, meaning heat is distributed throughout the body and handles. The small coated handles make it easy to forget they get hot. I have silicone covers for the handles of cast iron cookware and will try to get one for this pan as well. The inside is a bit rougher than my other cast iron dishes. This may be due to the wok-like shape of the interior, maybe also due to the handling when coating, but initially I found stirring a bit difficult. I hope it gets better with use. I also read in the instructions that you can wash the pan with soap and warm water, there is no information on how to care for the inside (which is made of pig iron). So if you are unfamiliar with this type of service I would do a little research before ordering this pan. Soap and water are not recommended for cleaning raw cast iron. So you really need two different cleaning methods for this pan. Overall I like it so far. This is an intermediate product that I can use as cast iron cookware or for stove top cooking. I would recommend it.
