I bought this in May 2020 on the recommendation of my dog trainer and am using it to message my young GSD. I would not use an e-collar until my dog understands basic verbal obedience commands and I understand the purpose and use of an e-collar, so my husband and I have invested in training our dog and myself. It took me a while to get used to it as juggling a remote control and handling a leash attached to an active, sometimes unfocused young dog took some getting used to. Over time, messages are no longer needed as my dog now responds to my verbal commands. This e-collar is secure and the remote control is comfortable to hold. However, the belt clip attaches to the transmitter with small screws that screw into it. It is tight and difficult to put on a belt. The small screws in mine came loose and I noticed before the transmitter was lost. I use a carabiner to attach the transmitter to my belt or belt when I need to free my hands; However, I usually have the transmitter in my hand. Despite the belt clip, I recommend this e-collar and radio transmitter - they're more expensive than some but I find them reliable.
