Review on 54724 55 OE Sport Spring by James Naylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They worked, but H&R had to fix the problem.

Measured the height before and after installation. This kit is said to lower the car 1" in the front and 0.5" in the rear and is listed on the H&R website to work not only with the Golf but also the Jetta. As a result, my Jetta TDI lowered 1 inch at the rear and not at all at the front. The car looked too low at the back. I called H&R and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the springs and confirmed they were installed correctly which they did. Their solution was to send me "sport" springs to mount on the front and it worked, dropping the front wheels 75 inches. The H&R rep thought the original springs might have sagged (and that might be a good thing) but that doesn't explain why the rear was lowered 1 inch from the originals and the rear of the car looked lower than it should. For reference I used them with KYB AGX racks. I had a friend install this kit on his Golf TDI with several Bilstein HD's and they lowered the car as promised. Overall I'm very happy with these springs and H&R got it right, but they were a little more work and inconvenience than I expected.

Pros
  • We take "felt" from the warehouse Suspension
Cons
  • Without machine gun
