HEART DISEASE ASSOCIATED WITH GRAIN-FREE DIET!

Please do not feed your dogs grain-free. This is all a marketing scam/trend that spreads false information about what dogs should eat. Please ask your vet about it (that's how I found it). (By my vet) Boutique, Exotic and Grain Free (BEG) diets are NOT recommended at this time! The FDA is investigating the link between diet and heart disease. of 560 cases were reported to the FDA between January 2014 and April 2019. Reported cases include 119 deaths. Of the cases studied so far, 90% had a grain-free diet. Some owners may be concerned about food allergies, but the reality is that while environmental allergies are quite common, less than 2% of allergic dogs have food allergies. And most of these dogs are allergic to the protein source, NOT the grains commonly found in dog food. What is the best food for dogs? There are many safe food choices, and there is no one best diet for everyone. Dog. It is currently safer to AVOID diets that list peas, lentils, potatoes, and/or sweet potatoes (in any form, such as lentil flour, potato flour, or pea protein) in the first 10 ingredients (listed before vitamins). and minerals). Currently, we only recommend diets that meet AAFCO recommendations, are nutritionally tested, have excellent quality control, and are licensed by veterinary nutritionists: Purina Pro Plan, Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, Iams, and Eukanuba. If you prefer not to feed any of these brands, we recommend following the World Small Animal Veterinary Association's recommendations for pet food selection. We would be happy to discuss other options with you!
