If you care about computer networking, this is what you need. Starting with a $10 tester that basically just checks that the pins are aligned may seem like a big leap, but it really helped me save time and figure out what's wrong instead of just guessing and drawing conclusions. First, it's well built. I throw it in my tool bag, laptop bag, it falls off with no problem. It is compact and can be taken with you at any time. If you're doing a quick test, just plug it in and it'll light up for DHCP, switch connection, router connection, and finally internet. But when you connect to its Wi-Fi signal, your phone's browser becomes an interface for accessing more tools! The most important thing is a cable tester that can tell you which pins are working and at what distance they are broken. And it logs into your account online and sends reports when you connect to the internet, for each test you can add notes to, etc. If you do a lot of wiring work, you should probably get something higher. But for a network tester, this thing turned out to be very useful.
