I was hesitant to try these after reading the reviews but they fit my purpose perfectly. I mainly used them for tapestry needles. I had no trouble getting the needles out, they fan out when you shake the tube upside down and don't fall out making it easy to choose the right needle. I was very happy that they no longer disappear into the pincushion. The caps hold up well. I haven't used them for tiny thin needles that others have mentioned can get stuck, but they are perfect for tapestry needles. The labels are not very useful
