First of all, be careful with the teeth, they are very sharp. This is a very handy little gadget. As you can see from my photos, it handles a large arc. It was very easy to press down on the bow and the prongs helped hold the bow upright. I was able to cut into a nice thin slice between each prong. If you need a thicker slice, just use every other prong. The cuts were very even. This holder also means you don't have to hold the loop so your hands don't smell so good! I then sautéed the onion and was very impressed with how evenly it was cooked. I've never cut onions so evenly, some burn and some don't cook through. I think it would work with tomatoes too, but I would cut off every third tine.
