
Despite the use of shielded RJ45 connectors, the shields are not connected to the earth wire and are therefore not suitable for our application. We checked it with a multimeter. I don't know why you're spending extra money on shielded connectors and not connecting them to anything. Sure, CAT6A wire for the extra ground wire costs a bit more, but they've already paid for shielded connectors, so why not. To be fair they didn't advertise it as CAT6A and it should work for its intended but questionable purpose.
