Installation was relatively easy, the instructions and markings on the cords and connectors were easy to follow and the entire installation took less than 2 hours including the time to disassemble and remove the old ceiling fan. The new fan looks great, shines bright enough and has an acceptable light temperature - not too cold, but not too soft. The remote is already programmed and you don't need to reprogram it unless you have another Minka ceiling fan at home that you want to control separately. Compared to my previous ceiling fan, this one has to spin faster to deliver the same airflow as it has 3 blades instead of 5 and the angle of the blades is smaller. That's not a problem as this fan spins very quickly when you use the highest setting (6), but it's a bit louder, although I don't really care. Overall this is a great fan and the materials and workmanship are of high quality. The blades are plastic, but it mimics wood quite well, saves weight and is more efficient, plus the blades warp a lot less over time. The housing around the lamp is metal and the base is solid leaving enough space to hide the wiring.
