First remove the small metal part!
At first I didn't think the volume control would fit my 2002 Silverado. Everything I tried wouldn't stay on and I couldn't press to turn the volume on or off. I first pointed out a return because it didn't fit; However, I had a revelation and used a pair of pliers to remove the small piece of metal that was around the metal rod that the stylus slides onto. If I made it, it's good! Now I don't have to return buttons and my truck has volume buttons! I hope this helps other people who thought the grips didn't fit.
