Works well. It's hard to get him to get up.

This product has almost everything I wanted in a hot glue gun. It heats up quickly. I found it was up and running in about 1 minute after turning it on. I consider it safe because the only thing that heats up (other than the glue) is the tip of the gun. The barrel and everything else you can or might touch stays cool. The switch is a handy feature. All previous hot melt guns I've had had to be unplugged in order to turn them off. Please note that this glue gun uses mini glue sticks (diameter 7mm, 0.27 inch). With all previous hot glue guns I have used standard (0.43 inch diameter) hot glue sticks. Mini glue sticks seem to be readily available. I haven't had a chance to buy them but I don't see a problem with the mini glue sticks. The only problem I had was not being able to securely attach the glue gun to the stand. The power cord is so tight that it may cause the gun to lie on its side. I solved this problem by attaching a short stick that sticks out about 3/4" from each side of the stand (see photo). This was enough to make the gun stable. A bit wider without the use of the significantly impair the weapon. With use, the cord can become more flexible, so that the stock rest is sufficient to support the weapon.
