These hair clips look just like other clips of the same size. They work on very thick hair and hold up well, but the thicker the hair, the easier it is to break. After about a week of using the same color none have broken yet. I would like them to come in a set of the same color. After repeated use I could not detect any wear and tear. The clamps open about 2.125 inches, which is a little less than others in this size range (I think).
