Unlike the other Kohler starters I've gotten from another seller, this one is to die for. Starts my 25 year old garden tractor instantly, every time, hot or cold. Highly recommended. Note: It is VERY important to COUNT the teeth on an existing starter. Most starters that LOOK like this will be replaced with a few different numbers, but it's usually impossible to read the part number on an old starter. and the biggest difference is 10 teeth or 9 teeth. As long as they're together, they look and feel the same. 9 teeth don't work well for 10 and vice versa. The wrong version for YOUR car can even crank the engine, but trust me. Take off the old starter and count the teeth before ordering. TIP: Clean the gear with carburetor cleaner or similar, let it dry well, then MARK one of the teeth with a marker before attempting to count them.
