This starter kit is a great project for boys and girls aged 6+. I bought this for my grandson who is 7 years old and he loved it and made it as a gift for a brother or sister. Everything is included except for the scissors. This teaches perseverance, patience, focus and pride in what has been achieved. We started with me sitting next to him guiding each stitch, then in the second session he did more on his own but with my help. at the third/last session i sat next to him and he did everything himself. The main thing is to listen to the child, encourage and relax. Don't insist on doing everything quickly. If there's a mistake, just say it's okay to make mistakes while studying, carefully cancel the work, and start over. My grandson was so proud of his work and he did a great job.
