I needed an ethernet cable to run from my modem downstairs to my computer upstairs, which doesn't support Wi-Fi (and is sometimes used on my laptop as well, as my modem isn't the strongest). It's definitely been long enough! There were no connection problems either. The only downside is that it feels a little flimsy. So if you are looking for something hard wearing/long lasting this may not be it. Mine rises and rotates close to the ceiling and stays in place so I'm not too concerned about wear and tear, but I had to be careful installing it because it wanted to bend a bit.
