Halloween costumes are hard to find in October, so I purchased this in July, thinking if I sized up it would fit my daughter come Halloween.My daughter will be 7 months old on Halloween. I purhacsed the 6-12 month size. She is currently 4 months (she wears 6 month size now) and it fit her. So the size shouldn't be 6-12, it's really just 6.I returned it and got it in the 12-18 size. Hopefully that will give her room to grow until October.The quality is just ok. The hood is lined, but the rest of the outfit is not lined, and it's not very soft.We live in CA so we don't have super cold weather like the midwest or the northeast, but even in 55 degrees I would put a layer under this (another reason to size up). If you do live in a cold place, then you should consider this to be equal in warmth to any other pajamas and you'll need some jackets.
