Great gear. The spear for marlin is made of durable aluminum. The ends seem to curl up with no problem. It's lightweight but still strong enough to pull ropes and cords when attached. The tip of the marlin spike makes it easy to untie knots in rope without worrying about breaking the strands. The feeds are well made and the paracord threads through easily. The kit comes with 3 feeds; flat needle for 550 paracord and smaller for micro paracord. They're smart enough to get through the screen without bending over. This includes a sailing needle. The Paracord Smoother is ideal for smoothing out cut ends of paracord and melting the ends of bracelets. The pointed part of the straightening tool is great for straightening out tangled cables when making bracelets.
