This antenna had one or more shorts from the start. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out where it's failing because the signal was literally cycling on and off. There's not a lot of copper in there, and trying to melt the sheathing was the only way to strip the wires. I finally got it to work by redoing both ends and the middle - so I could track down the wire for the antenna and make it myself - in fact I made a second one to look the other way. In between I have a stable signal. My advice is to buy another one or make it yourself.
