I've just started working from home and setting up an office instead of the desktop laptop I had previously. My laptop only has one HDMI port so I can put a monitor to the side, but if I want two monitors the laptop screen has to be one of them. This laptop stand was notable for having a short bottom structure to not increase the height, and the footprint and ventilation under the laptop platform suited my workspace. Now that I have it the laptop stand is solid and matches the description. It seems pricey for something so small and simple (a considerably large bamboo bookshelf for about the same price, a cheap office chair for almost the same price, and a plant stand that's basically a metal stand like this would be cheaper), but it got there as described and it suits my place and my setup is much better than before. If the online description looks good in your area, the actual product is good enough to meet expectations. My setup: My laptop only has one HDMI port, so if I want two monitors, the laptop monitor has to be one of them. I needed a stand to conveniently place my laptop screen on top of a second connected monitor. After connecting the keyboard and mouse so I don't have to use the controls on the laptop and it can only act as a display, I wanted the laptop stand to position the laptop screen and provide better airflow under the laptop in the event of overheating during an 8 hour period -working day . And my table is 8 feet wide with a cage and only 17 inches of clearance under the cage. So I needed a laptop stand with a low height adjustment so I could position it properly but still fit under the 17" bay. It worked well for positioning the laptop and after a week the ventilation in the platform the laptop is running on seems to really help (the fan doesn't go crazy as often as when the laptop is on a table). Dimensions: This can be installed at the following heights: 4.25 inches high. 6 and 5/8 inches high. 8 and 1/8 inches high. And 9 inches tall. The footprint of the four feet touching the group is 15 and 1/4 inches by 9 and 3/8 inches. The metal platform on which the laptop stands measures 15.5 x 9.25 inches. At the highest setting, the top platform is about 1 inch from the base, so the top platform is basically above the base. However, if you want to use really high settings, think of this as a width that requires 17 inches of space between sides to fit the space, and it'll definitely cover any offset. That being said, it's worth considering that running the cables behind it will push the whole thing out of the wall, since the base and platform at the top are about the same depth front to back. Durability and build quality: strong and level at any height. It's easy to adjust and the pieces snap together well so nothing can come loose as long as it holds the weight and you don't lift and move it during use. The setting method is super obvious. It comes with no instructions, you don't need any instructions, and when you start tweaking it after a few years, it will be easy to set up. Material - solid metal with black color. In terms of material and feel, it is very similar to a foldable metal plant stand. The edges are all rounded and there are no sharp parts. Each of the 4 legs has a piece of plastic tucked into the hollow end of the metal so it won't scratch your table. Price: Overpriced because laptop stands are a bit fancy. Now it's thirty-five dollars. As I said, it's a bit like a metal folding plant stand, and the plant stand will cost less. But even when I looked at laptop stands, most of them were wedge shaped things that weren't adjustable. Also, almost nobody had a very short bottom setup, which I absolutely must fit nicely under a drawer on my desk. I pay a premium to get something that isn't mass-produced. Well I only needed one of these and it makes my desk that much more functional. So if you're the kind of person who is good at visualizing and that's the size and shape you're looking for, then you'll get the value. I have no problem with the quality of the laptop stand. Overall, I got exactly what I expected based on Revain's product description. And the quality is ok. It's durable and easily adjustable. It makes my workspace much more harmonious, just the kind of design I was looking for. (I wanted a flat platform, not a wedge, and I wanted an adjustable one.) If you measure everything and visualize your space and have a plan for it, then the quality is fine and I think you'll be happy.
