Analytical Chemist Approved

I read some reviews about calibration and was a little skeptical as the hydrometer is a traceable product. I decided to try this hydrometer. After receiving the hydrometer, I performed a 3-point calibration to ensure that the hydrometer was indeed accurate and accurate. A three-point calibration curve was run using Sigma-Aldrich ethyl alcohol (sample 200) and Millipore HPLC water (<0.03 ppb VOC) with the following samples in a 250 mL graduated cylinder (tolerance +/- 1.5 ml) created: sample 180, sample 120. , 80 proof. I stirred the calibration mixture with a magnetic stirrer on a stirrer for 5 minutes and allowed it to reach equilibrium in the lab for several hours. The laboratory temperature was 19.0°C and the calibration mixtures were also at 19.0°C. The areometer was placed in graduated cylinders and allowed to equilibrate for a few minutes before taking measurements. After using the provided link to the temperature correction table that came with the hydrometer, I made a calibration curve and got the equation and R^2. The final results were within the tolerance of the relative and absolute tolerance of the lab glassware I used, and I got an R^2 value of 0.998. This means that for the amount of money you are paying for it, the hydrometer you are getting is actually extremely accurate and accurate. In short, I ran a calibration curve using lab grade ethanol and ultrapure water. It's tested and it's very accurate and accurate. Make sure the hydrometer and the solution you put it in reach equilibrium with the environment you are in and record the temperature to use the temperature correction chart, which is on the printed form or more detailed above the link is provided in the handout Stacks of paper are obtained with the areometer.
