First I want to say that these expansions are very well done. The hair looks and feels very real and the color is vibrant (I bought a deep turquoise). I gave them four stars because trying to curl these things is a pain. They don't respond to heat tools (curlers and straighteners) so I had to try a more labor intensive method to get what I wanted. You will need: - hair extensions - multi-temp hair dryer - mesh curlers, I used "Diana's Mesh Curler, Lavender, 1 1/2" (do NOT use a brush or velcro to hold the hair). in place you are likely to ruin your hair) - clips or long bobby pins to hold hair in curlers. Steps: 1. Gently comb your hair to remove tangles2. Part your hair. You do it just like you do with your own hair. The hair is attached to the headband in 4-5 layers. I kept each layer separate from the others with duck nose clips.3. Take the layer of hair that is at the bottom of the elastic (i.e. the layer that is furthest on the head after you have cut the hair extensions). Comb any tangles.4. Now you can start installing the videos. How many curlers and what size you use depends on the look you want to achieve. The rolls I used were 1.5 inches, so I separated my layers into strands of about 1 inch. I ended up with about 10 shirred sections per layer. Be sure to change the direction of the curler and twist the hair tightly. Use bobby pins or bobby pins to hold your hair in place. A NOTICE. I curled one layer at a time because I only had 8 rollers and it was easier to keep track of which rollers were hot and which weren't. You can roll the entire wig in curlers before this next step, but be aware that if you try to curl all your hair up, you may have trouble evenly distributing the heat and removing/avoiding big tangles from the curlers afterwards to lure once. 5. After you've set the curlers, it's time to get the hair dryer. Before you begin, make sure your hair dryer is on its lowest setting. Select one of the collapsed sections; This will be your test strand. While holding the test strand and roller, turn on the blow dryer and leave about 4 inches away from the section of curly hair you've chosen. I held the dryer on one side for 30 seconds and then turned and blew on the other side for 15 seconds. Hair should be hot but not sticky.6. Remove the test strand and see what happens. If it doesn't curl, or if the curl isn't even or tight enough, roll it back up (making sure it's curled in the same direction as before) and turn up the heat a little. Repeat this process until you get the desired result on the test strand. WARNING: Be careful not to overheat. It can ruin your hair! (7. If you decide to do one layer at a time: Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the rest of your hair. Work layer by layer in layers up. Separate the sections you have already curled, of those you have still needs to curl I used a hair elastic to separate curled strands) And viola! Now you can add these beautiful extensions with your own unique style! I hope this helps anyone who loves these extensions but doesn't exactly want to wear them. - Kath H
