I don't know if this has happened to you but I was looking for a Lodge 10" pan and this one next to it. There is no brand name on it or in the description so I assumed it was Lodge For a few bucks more i got a "regular" lid and a good grip guard but this is NOT a lodge I have a 12" spoon and I can tell you the difference you get a very good grip cap for get this obviously safe one 400+ degrees in the oven and a mediocre lid. You also get a 10" pan with a VERY uneven cooking surface, much larger than the Lodge. It also comes UNSEALED like the Lodge pan. You have to make your own He also offers a video showing how to season it and shows a person pouring too much oil by turning it upside down in an oven preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour, hey y, i have a pan scraper (lodge pan scraper) and was able to scrape the sticky residue off the surfaces, but the bottom is still a mess because it's so uneven. It took me forever to receive it because the package was crumpled and there were no instructions (shipping instructions) in the package so it got lost in the mail. I think I'll send it back, really nice pen protector and all. such a shame and a waste of time and energy. Thank god it wasn't a gift. By the way, the actual brand of this product is "CUISINEL".
