Small size in my opinion. The fabric was very stiff, not the kind of material I would want to sleep in on a regular basis. We bought a set and they were good for a family vacation photo, but I haven't used them since. The set I bought for my son has been worn quite a bit but mostly just pants and that's because he's 7 years old, hot and usually only sleeps in pajama bottoms. I order him a size up and they fit him much better, but the sleeves and neck of the shirt were still tight. I'll add that he's seven years old and a bean six, so he rarely has anything tight.
