Looks nice but fades quickly

Began to dull after a few weeks of use. I'm an amateur candle maker so I've probably cut about 80 wicks out of it by now. In the beginning it was very hard. I've cleaned them several times to remove the wax from the pre-wetted wicks, but they're still disappointingly dull.
