I was convinced by the reviews it wouldn't elicit a reaction from me. Not this case. It was starting to hurt and I thought maybe I just need to get used to the tight earring. Reassuring because I liked the way it looked and it wasn't red or hard on the front at all. It got to the point where I gave up. I had to put ice on my ear to make it deaf enough for my husband to open it. From then on I had to reapply ice to get the earring out. Turns out the whole infection was behind my ear. When my husband opened it, he saw blood and pus that I didn't even feel when I gently touched it. End of a long story, this is not surgical steel as claimed.
