My previous ThermalTake BlackX Duo (USB B 3.0 header on board) was recently relocated and accidentally damaged, and before getting the components from Mouser, desoldering the defective port and soldering a new one I needed something to access my storages (a bunch of bare hard drives) so i chose this one based on the USB-C connector, some reviews etc. Got it today, only tested -1. The hole guides are wider so you can't just plug in hard drives, but be careful not to hit the soldered connector on the bottom or see where you insert the hard drive.2. If you have a box with hard drives attached and it already has power, connect it to your computer. The hard drives are not recognized, so you need to plug in the drives, connect to the PC, and then turn it on.3. One of the 4 WD RED WD40EFRX hard drives had a strange problem - sometimes it shows content, now it shows as Unallocated. while the other 3 fit well. and this one also works fine with the old adapter. So I will consider it unreliable for everyday use and use it in case anything happens to the ThermalTake BlackX which I will fix once a USB port is available.
