The straps really provide good knee support and stability. The velcro straps are heavy duty adherence which wreaks havoc as they usually adhere to the sleeve when donning (and are hard to remove). The consequence of this the sleeve is showing the worse for wear (after 3 uses) and I don't know how the sleeve will hold up for the long run. I think the pad provided for the velcro "closure" could be a bit larger. The sleeve itself doesn't roll, but the straps can. I have large legs and ordered according to the size chart. The thigh fits well (no binding) but the sleeve doesn't fit my calf at all (too loose). This hasn't been an issue though (because of the straps). I thought the price was reasonable. I've tried several different sleeves and this has been the best so far but the straps are hard to handle.
