I also upgraded a 2017 Kia Niro that previously had Hikari Ultras installed. The most notable improvement over Ultras is the smoothness of the light pattern. I find this gives me a better view at a much greater distance. At this point I can honestly say that I trust Hikari. Especially when I notice that my ultras show no signs of heat. I've been using them for over a year now and they look brand new (no discoloration so they definitely don't overheat. Swapping out the Ultras for the new Acme bulbs was an easy task as they both use the same mounting flange. I needed to fit the old headlight without pulling out (see photos of ultra flanged bulbs) They are held in place with a press fit o-ring Contrary to what I've heard from others, I find this to be a very stable method of attachment, as long as your cables aren't too tight or you don't have enough space.
