My down jacket is over 40 years old and needs to be cleaned. I've always heard that it's impossible or impossible to wash a down product. Everyone should try this product "Granger Clothing Wash" to clean their down jacket or other down products. Wash in delicate and warm to cool water, and if you're going to tumble dry, be sure to use at least six tennis balls or wool balls. The instructions said to use the front door washer, but I used my wife's top loader and used balls of pure New Zealand wool. Balls of wool gently loosen the feathers without damaging them. My forty year old down jacket was matted and no longer warming in cold weather, so I wrote to the manufacturer and asked how to clean the jacket, but they did not see fit to answer, I think they felt that someone one of her jackets has worn forty years were not true enough to require an answer. The jacket is like new and the feathers are completely fluffy again. Granger did exactly what they said I am 99.99999% satisfied with the product.
