Review on 🚴 Schwinn Black Bike Brake and Derailleur Cable Repair Kit by Darrius Frison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly Commendable Good for Cables

Cables are strong and move well in the universal case. Need pliers for the body of a bike cable, as trying to cut through strong steel jacketing is almost impossible with flat-nosed pliers or a hacksaw. The brake cable ends are a smaller washer shape than the ones that came with my brake levers, but they fit and work well. The shift cable ends are normal sized. The tips are excellent and work well for crimping. The product does have a few minor flaws - they are tightly wrapped in the packaging so there can be visible kinks in what should be smooth cable body curves in front of the handlebars and there are only four connectors on the ends of the cable so use care and be sure you must be present, how they are mounted and crimped. I am very pleased with how well my 18 speed linear drag bike performs with these cables. They move with ease and control, although I skipped the cable lubrication step. Cable routing and spiral pad compression resulted in excellent, powerful braking and friction-locked shifting without the need for fine-tuning. The body is long enough to have a continuous stretch from the brake and shift levers to the rear triangle. Fully enclosed cables are protected from rain, spray, road dust and sweat. I have great peace of mind having a set of these on hand for future use.
