For years I've been trying to monitor voltages and currents "around the corner" or from a certain distance. For example, monitoring a signal under the hood of a car while sitting inside. I would either make long test lead extensions or try to place the multimeter next to the windshield. With this 233 it is the perfect solution. Simply place the MM body next to the chain, remove the head and you're done! I can even drive down the street with a display in my car. I consider this to be one of the greatest achievements in digital multimeters. now that Fluke is going in a different direction with its Connect line, but I almost prefer it in a lot of situations. I haven't had the nutritional issues you see in the reviews here. Maybe I have a modified model?
