The image is crystal clear and appears a little panoramic with a wider view than Ford's standard image. When our rear camera started blurring during our 100,000 mile escape in 2014, it took so long to until the image degradation was imperceptible: think cataracts. Replacement was easy: (1) Remove the four inner hatch door panels; (2) remove the four screws holding the linear rear panel with the Ford logo; (3) Remove the camera lock Phillips screw; (4) turn off the camera. When installing, be careful not to scratch the camera lens. It helps to have two people so one can hold the liftgate at different levels of opening, or you can use a ratchet strap. If you're not a backyard mechanic, consider that labor at the dealership is only $60-$75 and the cost of the part is close to $500. Removing the interior panels can be a little intimidating for the uninitiated, as you have to pull hard to avoid breaking them. All you need is a 10mm socket on the extension and a Phillips screwdriver.
