I don't know why I didn't do this sooner! My kitchen is tight and my sink is on an island. I need my paper towel by the sink, but I hate looking at my paper towel holder on the counter in the middle of the room/island. I started researching the paper towel holders over the door and settled on this one. The best decision I've made in a long time! (laughs!) My closet is 14.75 inches wide and the door is just over 1/2 inch thick (but not quite 3/4 inch). It fits perfectly! helps prevent the device from sliding on the cabinet door when you peel off the towel. The hardware makes a very small sound when you open and close the cabinet door; Even less/almost no noise when a larger/new reel is installed. However, the noise is not objectionable. The faint noise I hear seems to be the sound of the rod hanging the reel, not the clamp clicking I hung the unit on the closet door in front of the sink. I usually buy "giant" paper towels and hanging it in front of the sink doesn't bother me or bother me when I'm standing at the sink doing the dishes (I also have no problem with water droplets when working in a sink - it bothered me before buying) As you can see in the last photo, even with a "huge" roller on my small closet door when I open the door , it doesn't limit my ability to open the door almost all the way. I HIGHLY recommend this product! Excellent quality! Perfect for those who don't want to be constantly looking at their paper towel holder, have limited counter space and don't worry about how it looks when the paper towel is hanging on the closet door. :-) Don't hesitate - just buy this thing.
